Kannada actor and Superstar Puneeth Rajkumar passed away due to a fatal cardiac arrest on Friday afternoon. The sudden demise of the actor shocked and saddened the film fraternity and his fans.

BENGALURU: Famous Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar also known as Appu died today on Friday, 29 October due to a severe heart attack.

The actor passes away at the age of 46 and was suffering from a heart attack from a day ago his death. As per reports, Puneeth collapsed suddenly while doing work out in his gym.

Puneeth was taken immediately to the hospital named Vikram hospital in Bengaluru when his condition got worsened. He was admitted to the hospital at 11:30 am on Friday as told by the doctors and was treated in the intensive care unit. The hospital earlier stated in a statement that Puneeth's body was not responding at the time he was brought to the hospital.

Chief Minister of Karnataka visited the Vikram hospital in Bengaluru along with Puneeth's friends and other politicians including former CM. The sudden and untimely death of Superstar Puneeth became an ultimate shock for the people across the country as fans and friends paid tribute from various regions. Condolences are poured from various celebrities along with political leaders. Many South Indian known celebrities express their grief over the death of Puneeth such as Chiranjeevi Pritiviraj Sukuamar and Hansika mentioning that the news is heartbreaking and devastating.

He was the son of Kannada Idol and superstar Rajkumar and was known to his fans as Appu, also regarded as a 'Power star'.

Actor's fans from different parts of the country are remembering him as the kindest and noblest film star. Puneeth has made a lot of contributions in the world of cinema by acting in more than 29 Kannada movies appearing in most of them as child artists. He won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his character of Ramu in the 1985 film, Bettada Hoovu. His notable movies include Appu in 2002, Mourya in 2004, Arasyu in 2007, Raam in 2009, Rajakumara in 2017, and many others.
