The Kolkata International Festival was inaugurated on Saturday evening by Amitabh Bachchan as he was flanked by's who of Hindi and Bengali film. In the presence of West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee, Bachchan lit the formal light to open the 24th version of the celebration. In his discourse, the actor talked about the brilliant 100 years of the Bengali film.

The trailer of Shah Rukh Khan's Zero was likewise screened at the occasion.
