MLTR to Rock Guwahati Not 'Someday' But on Sunday

GUWAHATI: The phenomenal trio of Jascha Richter, Mikkel Lentz, and Käre Wanscher from Denmark, who collectively make up Micheal Learns to Rock (MLTR) will rock your socks off and make you croon to their biggest hits like Paint My Love, You Took My Heart Away, Sleeping Child and Someday, when they take the stage at Indian Open Air 2022 in Guwahati on Sunday (Nov 27).

The Danish band is back to regale you with their chart- busting, foot- tapping, heart- touching songs that made them one of the biggest pop- rock bands of Europe that took the world by storm and continues to evoke nostalgia decades after they hit the world stage in 1991 with their self- named album Micheal Learns to Rock. It was their second album Colours in October 1993, which included the singles "Sleeping Child", "25 Minutes" and "Out of the Blue" that they achieved international stardom. They sold over 1.1 million records. Till now, the band has sold has more than 12 million legal albums.

MLTR has toured India in the past. In 2015, they performed in Guwahati and Mumbai and were one of the first global bands to perform in Shillong way back in 2005.

As part of their 'Back on the Road' tour, MLTR will perform their best hits not only in the gateway to the Northeast in Guwahati but move across to four locations across the NE region, much to the delight of the band's countless fans in this music- loving part of the country, for whom music is a way of life, more so the offerings from international artistes and bands- be it pop, rock, metal, folk or the newest genres of music.

After MLTR hitting Aizawl on November 25, the band will perform in Guwahati on November 27, Imphal on November 29, and Tura on December 1, apart from two other cities in India.

Tickets for the shows have been made available from the first week of November.

The Indian Open Air 2022 concert venue opposite Mayfair Resort at Kamarkuchi, Sonapur, on the outskirts of the city is a heavily anticipated show and will feature some of the best bands from across the country. The lineup at the Indian Open Air 2022 concert, apart from the headlining band MLTR, comprises Girish And The Chronicles, Trance Effect, Flying Cupid, Voodoo Child and Serpents of Pakhangba (cancelled).

Following the headliners will be Rock band Girish And The Chronicles from Gangtok, Sikkim, while Trance Effect- the alt-pop band from Nagaland will play next. Flying Cupid, a Djent/metalcore outfit from Delhi is next up, with Guwahati's own rock and roll band Voodoo Child set to rock the crowds next.

Serpents of Pakhangba a theatrical avant-garde / experimental / folk / free-jazz band conceptualized and formed by multi-instrumentalist composer Vishal J.Singh (of the internationally acclaimed multi-national avant-prog band Amogh Symphony) from Mumbai was also scheduled to play but they have announced that they will not be doing the gig in Guwahati.

Indian Open Air calls itself the first homegrown international concert/tour IP of Guwahati, Assam, out to create a niche for itself and become one of the most loved Open Air concerts in the country.
