Prithviraj is an action-packed upcoming historical epic drama film directed by Chandraprakash Dwidevi, produced by Yash Raj Films and written by Aakanksha Raghuvanshi. The film is now scheduled to release in theatres on 21 January 2022. It was earlier decided to release on 13 November in 2020 during Diwali but postponed due to the rise of global pandemic COVID 19.

The movie focuses mainly on the life of 12th-century Indian king Prithviraj Chauhan as it is inspired by Prithviraj Raso, an epic poem based on the life of the Prithviraj Chauhan written by late poet Chand Bardai.

Prithviraj features notable actors such as Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar in lead roles along with Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood. Actor Akshay Kumar plays the role of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan and actress Manushi Chillar plays the role of Sanyogita as her debut and appears as the love of Prithviraj in the film.

The movie brings a story of medieval literature full of action and emotions which shows powerful king Prithviraj. It is all about Prithviraj's bravery and courage with no fear and Akshay in the role of warrior revolts against the merciless invader Mohammad of Ghor. The movie pays tribute to the fearless legend Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan for his act of heroism in the medieval history of India.

The makers of the much-awaited movie have now released a teaser video of Prithviraj on Monday 15 November. The first glimpse of the movie has already gained much attention as received millions of views after it's released on YouTube. Prithviraj Movie has become the most expensive Indian film to date with its production budget of around Rupees 300 Crores, according to official sources.
