Ranveer Singh a Phenomenal Actor, says Kareena Kapoor Khan

Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who will be seen sharing screen space with Ranveer Singh in the upcoming magnum opus “Takht”, says he is a phenomenal actor. “I am very excited to do the movie finally with Karan Johar and Ranveer of course. I have not worked with him but I know he is a phenomenal actor and it will amazing,” Kareena said here in Mumbai. The 37-year-old says she is “really honored” to share screen space with Ranveer in “Takht”, a period drama.

This will be the first time Kareena and Ranveer will be seen working together in a film. “Takht” also features Bhumi Pednekar, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Janhvi Kapoor. It will be directed by Karan Johar. The film will bring back Karan and Kareena working together after 17 years. The two last collaborated “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...” in 2001. “Takht” will be a story of a family, ambition, greed, betrayal, love, and succession. It is being produced by Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta, for release in 2020.

Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of those rare actresses in Bollywood who has been unstoppable come what may. Soon after her maternity break, she was on the sets of ‘Veere Di Wedding’ and performed extremely well leaving the audience wanting to see more of her on the big screen. Recently, there were reports of her being finalized for Karan Johar’s next opposite Akshay Kumar. Reportedly, the movie revolves around the life of a couple which will be played by Kareena and Akshay.

A few weeks ago another report claimed that she was also approached to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Salute’. Directed by Mahesh Mathai and produced by Ronnie Screwwala and Siddharth Roy Kapur, ‘Salute’ is a biopic on astronaut Rakesh Sharma. However, there was no official confirmation on Kareena being finalized for playing the female lead. When asked about it, the actress had told the media earlier, “Whatever film I choose I will let everyone know but at the right time.”Now, as per reports in a media portal, not only has Kareena been frozen for the roles, but she will also apparently sign on the dotted lines for ‘Salute’ this week.

If these reports indeed come true, then Kareena and SRK will be sharing the screen after a gap of 7 long years. If reports are to be believed, Kareena will be playing the role of Madhu, who is an interior designer by profession and astronaut Rakesh Sharma’s (played by Shah Rukh) wife. Once the dates and remuneration and other important aspects have been decided, the makers will make an official announcement about the same. ‘Salute’ is expected to start by the end of the year.
