Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal’s life will soon be portrayed in reel as director Anmol Gupte announced that he will be directing a movie on the Indian badminton star’s life. Bollywood beauty Shraddha Kapoor will play Saina Nehwal on screen and the actress has started her preparations for the act.
Shraddha Kapoor took to social media to share the letter that she received from the filmmaker of Saina Nehwal, biopic post the mahurat shot. The letter read "Our dear daughter Shraddha (Means Faith) remembering lord we, keep your name Saina (In Hindi) let this journey be the most memorable for you...Dearest Baccha-we love you."
The actor posed for a perfect picture moment with the producer Bhushan Kumar and director Amole Gupte of the film, with the mahurat clap of their first schedule at Madh Island. Along with them, Saina Nehwal's parents also came to bless reel life daughter as she interacted with the media on the location.
Saina has some excellent feats to her credits as she is the only Indian to be ranked No 1 by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). She also grabbed the bronze medal in the London Olympics in 2014. Saina reached the finals of the All England Open Badminton Competition in 2015. She also achieved the feat of becoming the first Indian to win the Super Series tournament and the Indonesian Open in 2009, both as a junior player.
The ace shuttler was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2009, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 2009-10, followed by the Padma Shri in the year 2010.
Shraddha Kapoor, while speaking to the media expressed her happiness in being able to play Saina Nehwal on screen.
“Saina is the country’s sweetheart, a champion and a youth icon. It’s a challenging role for an actor as it requires an immense amount of transformation,” said ShraddhaKapoor.
Shraddha has been having a busy year with her films 'Stree' and 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' releasing back to back, even she is busy in the shooting for 'Saaho' along with it her pre-work for the Saina Nehwal biopic.
