Salim Khan 86th Birthday: Movies Written by Legendary Screenwriter

Indian actor, producer, and most notably a screenwriter, Salim Khan turned a year older as celebrates his 86th birthday on Wednesday 24 November 2021.

Throughout his career in screenwriting, Salim Khan has written numerous scripts, screenplays and stories for Bollywood movies. He is a well-known personality from the Hindi Film fraternity much known for developing unique and excellent screenplays.

Salim Khan has made a huge contribution to the world of Hindi cinemas with his performance in acting along with his writing skills. During the 1970s, Salim Khan had brought a revolution in Indian cinemas through his experiment of films in different genres.

Indian popular actor Amitabh Bachchan was first launched by Salim in his scripts and then contributed with many scripts for the actor.

The renowned screenwriter is known with the full name Salim Abdul Rashid Khan and was born on 24 November in the year 1935 in Indore. Salim Khan got married to actress Helen in the year 1981 and then married Sushila Charak in the year 1964 and had five children as Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Arpita Khan and Arbaaz Khan. Khan was honoured with numerous awards including the Guild Award for Lifetime Achievement.

• Sholay: This action drama movie Sholay in 1984 has gained much popularity and it is the all-time favourite among Hindi films. The film was written by Salim along with Javed starring Amitabh and Dharmendra in a bond of friendship.

• Zanjeer: It is an action thriller in 1973 written by dynamic duo Salim–Javed and directed by Prakash Mehra starring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role.

• Don: Don which became the highest-grossing film in the year 1978 is written by Salim and Javed starring Amitabh along with Zeenat Aman and Pran.

• Shakti: The notable film Shakti in 1982 written by Salim-Javed starring veteran actors and won four Filmfare awards for various genres.

• Mr. India: Mr. India released in 1987 which was a big hit was again written by the duo Salim-Javed starring Anil Kapoor in the role of a man who gets the power to become invisible whenever wishes.
