Satish Kaushik Didn’t Charge a Penny for Several Movies: Govinda

MUMBAI: For many years, the late Satish Kaushik delighted audiences with his impeccable comic timing.

In movies like Saajan Chale Sasural, Deewana Mastana, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Pardesi Babu, Aunty No. 1, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, and Kyo Kii, he had fantastic chemistry with Govinda.

On Wednesday, Kaushik passed away from a heart attack. He was 66. Govinda recently praised the late actor in a statement. Govinda described how Kaushik occasionally declined to charge for movies. He repeated this when he made a brief appearance in Auntie No. 1 in 1998.

"He (Kaushik) portrayed a character in Auntie No. 1 and didn't want to charge a dime. He needed to be persuaded to accept the payment." Govinda said to media.

The late actor, according to Govinda, was passionate about his work and very considerate and kind. Kaushik and Govinda last crossed paths on the sets of the reality TV program Indian Idol.

He was affectionately recalled by the Hero No. 1 actor, who remarked, "Sabko saath leke chalnewala actor tha woh." The Dildaar insaan (He was a large-hearted man who would take everyone along with him.)

Kaushik's acting abilities were also lauded by Govinda in a previous interview. He remarked, "Every actor performs, but he was someone who would first comprehend before acting."

He was an actor who would make any character memorable with his sheer work ethic. There are many artists who work in the film industry. He would really immerse himself in that environment and adopt that persona.

When Satish Kaushik experienced a heart attack, he was in Gurugram. On his way to the hospital, he passed away. His untimely death shocked his family, friends, and admirers. His wife and daughter have continued to live.

Kangana Ranaut's Emergency will be the actor's final motion picture. He has a supporting role in the online series Pop Kaun, which will debut on Disney Plus Hotstar on March 17.
