Andhadhun actor Ayushmann Khurrana has been roped in a gay love story Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan second part of 2017 film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. Calling it an “absolute entertaining film”, Ayushmann Khurrana says it'll handle the subject of homosexuality sensitively.
After the success of Aanand L. Rai’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, that self-addressed the topic of erectile dysfunction with humor, the second installment of the franchise will delve upon the issue of homosexuality. It'll be directed by Hitesh Kewalya.
“It could be a beautiful story told in the quintessential Aanand L. Rai sort of filmmaking which will touch your hearts and leave a smile on your face,” Ayushmann Khurrana aforesaid in a statement. “It is one of the foremost sensible films that I actually have read in a very long time and it handles the subject of homosexuality really sensitively. It's a pleasure to collaborate once more with the master storyteller of our times. It's an out and out entertaining film which will also make you think and that’s the hallmark of excellent cinema,” he added.
While other details stay unknown, casting is underway and also the film is scheduled to unleash early next year. As per many reports, the plot revolves around how a conservative family involves terms with the actual fact that their son is gay. It's expected to go on the floors within the last week of August.
According to producer Rai of color Yellow Productions, the success of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan inspired the makers to show it into a franchise that tackles subjects within the light-hearted manner.
“With ...Zyada Saavdhan, we've got a great story in hand and who is better, but Ayushmann to play the lead since he brings a whole new level of expression to the table. Hope audiences enjoy it as much as the first film,” he added.
Earlier, Ayushmann Khurrana has given away details of his next film where he will be seen in and as Dreamgirl. The actor will be seen cross-dressing within the film and will speak in both male and feminine voices. Ayushmann Khurrana is returning off an excellent 2018 wherever he delivered 2 massive hits – comedy Badhaai Ho and adventure story Andhadhun. It appears in terms of quaint storylines and standout characters, he has 2019 seamed up too.
The actor has disclosed details of his coming film, Dreamgirl, where he is seen cross-dressing. “Dream Girl is is really unique, extremely fascinating because I get to wear a saree within the film. It’s a couple of guys who plays Sita in Ram Leela. Traditionally, in our country, we have all seen guys playing Sita, so I’m one of those. He has the unique talent of taking out voices of both male and female. It’s like a full-on commercial film,” the actor said in an interview with the media.
The film stars Nushrat Bharucha and Manjot Singh in important roles and is being directed by Raaj Shaandilya. “I am thrilled to work with Ayushmann and director Raaj Shaandilyaa. It is one of the funniest scripts I have read in a while and the journey has been super fun,” Manjot recently said. The film is being produced by Ekta Kapoor.
