Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth: CAA is not against Muslims & NPR is important for the country

NEW DELHI: Superstar Rajinikanth said that Muslims have nothing to fear as CAA is not meant for taking away their citizenship. He said that he would be the first to speak up if ever citizenships of Indian Muslims are taken away.

"A fear has been created that CAA is against Muslims and how can you say that? Muslims have all rights in the country because they stayed back here despite the creation of Pakistan reinforcing their faith in their homeland. How will they be sent out ...,” he told reporters.

He supported NPR and said that the process is important to learn about “outsiders.”

Rajinikanth also insisted that students should think before plunging into violent activities as many vested interests could be using them as mere pawns.

If you don’t think deep, politicians will try to use you and if you jump to protest, you don’t know how police will behave. If they file an FIR, then your life will be in peril. They need to think about this,” he said, according to media reports.

The actor had earlier said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are like Lord Krishna and Arjuna. Congratulating Shah on his ‘Mission Kashmir’ (revocation of Article 370 which conferred special status on Jammu and Kashmir), Rajinikanth termed it as a ‘fantastic’ move.

Rajinikanth had earlier announced that his party would contest in all the 234 Assembly constituencies in the state as and when the elections were held. Rajinikanth said he will not disappoint his fans when the Assembly battle was fought.

The Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth was recently in the news after he made television acting debut on Discovery channel’s new format series called ‘Into the wild’ with Bear Grylls, which will also raise awareness about water conservation. This is Rajinikanth’s first TV venture after 43 years in cinema, the channel said in a statement on Wednesday.
