Indian actor and producer Ramesh Babu known originally as Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu passes away on Saturday 8 January 2022.

The actor died at the age of 56 after suffering from a liver-related disease.

Ramesh Babu was the brother of Telugu star Mahesh Babu and the elder son of veteran Telugu superstar Krishna. He is well known for his work in the world of the Telugu film industry as he had delivered performances in more than 15 movies throughout his acting career.

According to reports Ramesh Babu was suffering from various health issues for the past few weeks and was admitted to AIG hospital, Hyderabad on Saturday evening concerning to serious condition. He was brought unconscious from his home and the hospital later confirmed his death on the same day. The last rites of Ramesh were performed on Sunday 9 January in Hyderabad as per reports.

Fans and friends across the country mourn the sudden demise of the notable film producer, Ramesh Babu. The news of his death has brought shock and grief to the Telugu film industry.

The film personalities including Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan offer condolences to the family members. Brother Mahesh wrote a heartfelt note and shared a throwback picture of his brother on social media expressing his love for him and regarding Ramesh as his inspiration, courage and strength.

Ramesh was born on 13 October 1965 to the family of Ghantamneni Krishna and Indira Devi in Chennai, India. He got married to Mrudula Ghattamaneni and had two children namely Bharathi Ghattamaneni and Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni.

Ramesh appeared for the first time in a 1974 action drama film titled Alluri Seetharama Raju directed by V. Ramachandra Rao and with this, he made his on-screen debut. At a very young age of 12, Ramesh started to work as a child artist.

Ramesh Babu had his retirement from acting in the year 1997 and from then onwards he started producing numerous films becoming a renowned producer.

He produced two films under the production company Krishna productions titled Athidhi (2007) and Arjun (2004) where his brother Mahesh Babu acted in the lead roles.
