Before Kalank teaser came out on Tuesday, the entire cast was teased in character posters over two days. The posters of the three men of Kalank – Varun, Sanjay and Aditya -- came out on March 7 and the leading ladies’ – Alia, Madhuri and Sonakshi -- first looks were revealed on International Women’s Day (March 8).

Karan had earlier shared how the film is special to him. “A film that was born in my heart and mind fifteen years past....a film I turbulently believe...the last film my father worked on before he left us.....it was his dream to envision this film return through....I couldn’t fulfil his dream then....my spirit was broken....but todays his would like has found a relationship with celluloid....the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice....the film has been woven , nurtured and envisioned by ABHISHEK VARMAN....and the film Is KALANK! Set within the ’40s however it’s heart lives on.....TOMORROW the journey begins.....am excited ...anxious and emotional regarding this one... Helmed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank will be Alia Bhatt and Varun’s fourth collaboration after working together in blockbusters like Student of the Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
