108 Mrityunjoy Employees Stage Protest Rally

GUWAHATI, Aug 3: The All Assam 108 Mrityunjoy Employees’ Association carried out a protest rally at Dighalipukhuripar on Friday and submitted a memorandum to State’s Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

The rally was participated by drivers, emergency medical technicians and emergency response officers besides others.

The memorandum addressed to the chief minister said that since 2012, the employees of 108 Mrityunjoy have been suffering various problems including non-payment of annual increment, excess working hours, nominal payments for maintenance of ambulance etc. Notably, the Association, since long has been alleging that the Hyderabad-based GVK-EMRI has been breaking the service and labour rules resorting to a form of exploitation.
