163 students, 24 cancer patients arrive in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: As many as 6 buses that set out from Delhi ferrying 163 students from Assam reached Guwahati on Wednesday. Additionally, a single bus carrying 24 cancer patients and their attendants also arrived in Guwahati.

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma received them and discussed the 14-day mandatory quarantine process which they need to observe now.

The students and the patients were examined at the Sarusajai Quarantine Centre and the students from upper Assam were sent to Jorhat Quarantine Centre.

It is to be mentioned that 50 percent of the travel expenditure was covered by the students and the rest by an NGO.
