1st Edition of Majuli Music Festival to be held from November 15

GUWAHATI: With the tagline ‘Music For Change’ with a vision to promote rural tourism and uplift the economy, to preserve the indigenous music, art and culture and food habits and let people explore the eco diversity of Majuli, the Majuli Music Festival Foundation is going to hold its first edition from November 15 to November 17.

Addressing a press conference here at Guwahati Press club on Wednesday, the organizer said that one of prime objective of Majuli Music Festival is to spread the massage globally through music so that this initiative will boosts its pledge to the UNESCO for World Heritage Site. Various Genre artists Lineup, adventurous activities, village cycling Expedition and boating competition in Kerkotiya will be some of the main attraction in the festival. Besides these menifestos of the Majuli Music Festival are establishment of Majuli School of Music so that deprived young generation of the island would get a chance to enroll in their field of interest.

A Carbon neutral initiative is the introduction of E-rickshaw at festival venue to contribute to the carbon neutral initiative and also an environmental awareness campaign and Mental Health Awareness Campaign to contribute towards Swacch Bharat Mission and to encourage people to break social stigma associated with mental health disorders by giving them a platform to share their stories.
