2 held; fake currency seized in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A team of the West Guwahati Police District (WGPD) from the Gorchuk Police Station busted a Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) scam on Tuesday after it arrested two persons, identified as Abdul Kadir and Aizul Rahman of Bihpuriya.

According to police sources, the duo was trying to trade purported FICN worth Rs 15 lakh. The pack had only Rs 3,000 of original currency and the rest was white paper.

Six mobile phones were also recovered from their possession, the sources added.
