21 days’ Lockdown: Kamrup Metro Administration fixes grocery-shop timings

Guwahati : Kamrup(Metro)District Administration has fixed grocery shop-timing in the district for the on-going nation-wide lockdown imposed due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. A notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority said, “ For a hassle-free collection of essential commodities by the retailers and purchase by the customers, Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration has fixed following time for the opening of Whale sale and Retail sale shops including Fair Price Shops, Departmental Stores/Shopping Malls(only grocery sections) in the Kamrup Metropolitan District with effect from March 26, 2020.”

1. Whole Sale Shops: 8 am to 4 pm

2. Retail Outlets: 9 am to 6 pm.

The notification has also stated that the shop owners have to sanitize their shops and to ensure social distancing for the staff and customers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday night clammed the nation-wide lockdown till April 14 to check the coronavirus pandemic.
