268 People Rescued By National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)

Guwahati: Incessant rainfall in the last one week in Tripura and rising water levels of river Juri, Kakri and Manu have caused floods in Dharmanagar and other places under the sub-division in North Tripura. “The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has evacuated 268 people in the State so far and relief and rescue operations are on” said SK Sastri, Commandant, 1st Battalion NDRF, stated a press release. The flood situation worsend in Tripura on Saturday with the rain-fed Juri and Kakri River in Dharmanagar in North Tripura inundating areas rendering many homeless and damaging roads and crops.
