3,000 online petitions for mutual transfers pending; Minister Ranoj Pegu directs official to verify

GUWAHATI: State Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu has directed all officials to verify the online mutual transfer petitions and forward the eligible petitions to the next level immediately so that transfer orders can be generated against the eligible applicants since more than 3000 applications are pending.

A high-level meeting was conducted recently regarding the mutual transfer of teachers. Irrespective of the nature of the (working) posted school, the same category of teachers will be eligible for online mutual transfer. If the languages are not matched but the medium of instruction is the same, that case is also to be considered for mutual transfer. If any one partner teacher of any Mutual Transfer Order does not join the newly transferred school, then the particular Mutual Transfer Order will automatically be cancelled.

The minister also said that the responsibility of maintaining the pupil-teacher ratio at the school level is on the district-level committee of the districts and directed all the districts to carry out the process of rationalizing teachers to maintain the PTR norms. He also said that in the case of an online inter-district single transfer, the state level committee will issue a transfer order by placing the transferred teacher at the disposal of the district level committee of the transferred district. The District Level Committee of the transferred district will place the transferred teacher in a school where there is a requirement for the teacher as per PTR norms. In this case, the district may consider posting teachers by transfer from the following three types of teachers: new recruits, surplus teachers in schools to be pooled up, and teachers received in the district through transfer.
