36 Beneficiaries For Journalists’ Welfare Scheme

GUWAHATI: All together 36 beneficiaries were selected for financial aid under the Medical implemented by the Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Assam.

The Selection Committee meeting was held on August 27, under the chairmanship of IAS, Addl. Chief Secretary, IPRD Kumar Sanjay Krishna. The meeting approved a total amount of Rupees thirteen lakh and ninety one thousand. The scheme covers ailing journalists and their immediate dependent family members.

The selection committee has approved 36 applications received from ailing journalists who are accredited and recognized card holders for the financial aid under the scheme. The meeting was initiated by Director, DIPR, Assam as Member Secretary of the Committee Anupam Chaudhury, stated a press release.
