371 NFR stations to Have Mechanised Cleaning System

GUWAHATI, Aug 31: Under an ambitious plan, to improve the overall cleanliness of stations, NF Railway has decided to introduce mechanised cleaning system in 359 stations before 2nd October this year.

Notably, NF Railway has 547 stations in total out of which 127 are Halt stations (stations without platforms). Out of the remaining 420 stations, 22 stations are presently having mechanised cleaning system. 27 stations are being cleaned through manual contract and 371 stations are being cleaned by Station Master by engaging local agencies, a press release stated.

Tender has been floated already covering all the stations under five divisions of NF Railway. Under the mechanised cleaning system, stations will be cleaned by using machineries like Flipper Sweeping Machine, Single Disc Scrubber, High pressure water jet cleaner, Commercial Wet & Dry Vacuum cleaner, Auto Scrubber Dryer Floor Cleaning and Mopping Machine etc.
