GUWAHATI: As many as 38 students of Karara Higher Secondary School in Kamrup district are in a fix and extremely worried. These students have been declared fail in the Higher Secondary final exam, 2022, result of which was declared on Monday by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC).

But they failed not because they did not get pass marks but because the marks of their practical exams were not added to their total marks. According to official sources, as per rule, the students of the school should have appeared for their practical exam in another school. However, the Karara Higher Secondary School authority made them appear for the practical exam in the school itself. As a result, their practical exams were not added in their total marks. Sources said that since this happened due to the mistake of the school authority, the students should not suffer. Now their practical answersheets will be evaluated and the practical exam marks will be added to their total marks in the marksheets, added sources.
