49 kg Ganja seized, 4 arrested by Gorchuk police at Kotabari, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, Gorchuk police and sleuths of the Crime Branch of the City police intercepted a Mahindra Van (AS25DC7317) on AK Deb Road at Kotabari and recovered 49 kg ganja, on Sunday night. The ganja was kept concealed in a number of sacs covered with paddy straw. The police arrested four persons, including the driver, in connection with this. The four have been identified as driver Tafajul Haque (22), Ajidul Hussain (26), Tahirul Ali (24) and Khalil Ali (24). All the four hail from Kolaigaon in Udalguri district.

A case (14/2020 u/s 20 (C)/29 of NDPS Act) has been registered on Gorchuk police station. All the four have been sent to judicial custody by the court.
