57 touts arrested during special drive conducted at many places by NFR Railway Protection Force in 2018

GUWAHATI: Railway Protection Force of NF Railway has been successful in apprehending a good number of touts over the year during a special drive conducted at many places. These touts use to purchase railway tickets in false name by giving fake information/documents etc. and then sell the same to another passenger by taking a premium. These passengers while undertaking the journey by train land into trouble as the ticket is in the name someone else. Genuine railway passenger also faces a problem as a result of the same. It may be mentioned here that during the year 2018 Railway Protection Force successfully arrested and prosecuted 57 touts during drives conducted throughout NF Railway. In the current year (2019) 6 touts were arrested and prosecuted till date.
