6 Arrested On Rape And Murder Charges At Chandrapur

GUWAHATI: A 40-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped and later burnt alive at Chandrapur on Wednesday. The deceased worked at a brick manufacturing den in Kamarpur, while the body was recovered in Dumdang, Morigaon. The husband of the deceased lodged an FIR (56/19 u/s 415/379/302/806 IPC) at Pragjyotishpur police station. Six people, Anil Das, 23, Anand Das, 25, Raju Karmakar, 23, Nadu Biswas, 23, Mrigen Deka, 35 and Abdul Hussain, 55, have been indicated in this regard. The six accused was presented before the court on Thursday and remanded for three days under police custody.
