62-year-old woman found dead in Guwahati's Pillangkata area

GUWAHATI: A 62-year-old woman was found murdered in a mysterious way at her residence in Guwahati's Pillangkata area on Monday.

According to reports, the victim – Rima Das was a retired employee of National Sample Service. The police said her body was found in a pool of blood in the bathroom of her house. While her room was locked from the inside, her mobile phone, keys of the wardrobe and purse is missing.

Das was living in the first floor of the building and her son and daughter-in-law reside in the ground floor of the building. However, they didn't notice anything unusual during the period. A CID team, forensic team and dog squad examined the spot on Monday night and the victim's son and daughter-in-law were interrogated at Basistha Police Station. The further investigation is on.
