65th Filmfare Awards: Bollywood Stars make a beeline to Kamakhya Temple

GUWAHATI: With the 65th Filmfare Awards successfully hosted in Guwahati on Saturday night, Bollywood stars were seen making a beeline to visit Kamakhya Temple on Sunday morning.

Legendry producer Mukesh Bhatt and 1990s super sensational singer Anuradha Paudwal offered prayers at Kamakhya Devalaya.

Talking to the media, Mukesh Bhatt said, “I feel blessed and peaceful which I cannot express with words. It’s Devi Kamakhya who bought us here through the Filmfare and we got a chance to offer prayers and seek Her blessings. I’m very happy that for the first time Filmfare Award took place in such a beautiful place. I’m thankful to the people of Guwahati for their love and respect.”

Actress Bhumi Pednekar said, “The Filmfare Award this year was very special for me, because it happened in Assam, and winning the Black Lady gives me immense happiness and celebrating the win with Maa Kamakhya is the best opportunity one can have.”

She added, “I really enjoyed performing Bihu while shooting the promo video for ‘Awesome Assam’. I’m really glad to know about a new culture. I hope that in near future I get to do a movie which will be Assam-centric. I want to visit Assam once again to meet the lovely people of the State.”

Clad in ‘pat mekhela-chaddor’, Urvashi Rautela also visited the Kamahya Devalaya and took the blessings of the Goddess. “I’m fortunate to have visited this place with my mother and enjoyed the Filmfare Awards. My mom loves ‘mekhela-chaddar’. I’m attired in my mom’s ‘mekhela-chaddar’ to take blessings from the Goddess,” she said.

Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit, Kartik Aryan, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan, Ananya Pande and others had the taste of Assamese delicacies like ‘Masor Tenga, Joha Chaul’, Assamese vegetables etc in their respective hotels.
