A Decade of Burglary and Robbery Witnessed in Assam

Over the last ten years, state has witnessed 38,396 cases of

burglary, 8,350 cases of robbery and 2,148 looting cases by dacoits

GUWAHATI: Over the last 10 years, the entire state has witnessed as high as 38,396 cases of burglary. The year wise records were, 1400 cases of burglary in 2018 (Till April), 4745 cases of burglary in 2017, 4798 cases of burglary in 2016, 4739 cases of burglary in 2015, 4823 cases of burglary in 2014, 4305 cases of burglary in 2013, 3825 cases of burglary in 2012, 3340 cases of burglary in 2011, 3281 cases of burglary in 2010 and 3139 cases of burglary in 2009.

On the other hand, there were altogether 8,350 cases of robbery recorded across all the police stations of the state over the last ten years. The numbers of cases per year were, 370 cases of robbery in 2018 (Till April), 1088 cases of robbery in 2017, 939 cases of robbery in 2016, 934 cases of robbery in 2015, 996 cases of robbery in 2014, 933 cases of robbery in 2013, 907 cases of robbery in 2012, 841 cases of robbery in 2011, 662 cases of robbery in 2010 while there were 680 cases of robbery in 2009.

Contrary, there were 2,148 cases of dacoity across the state over the last ten years. The number of cases of dacoity recorded across all the police stations of the state per year was, 43 cases of dacoity in 2018 (Till April), 159 cases of dacoity in 2017, 157 cases of dacoity in 2016, 194 cases of dacoity in 2015, 264 cases of dacoity in 2014, 249 cases of dacoity in 2013, 266 cases of dacoity in 2012, 310 cases of dacoity in 2011, 248 cases of dacoity in 2010 and 258 cases of dacoity in 2009.
