AASU (All Assam Students' Union) stages Statewide protest against price hike

GUWAHATI: The AASU (All Assam Students' Union) staged a Statewide protest against the hike in prices of the essential commodities – petrol, diesel, cooking gas etc.

The students' body stated that due to the price hike, the people are in distress.

"Due to the hike in prices of petroleum products, prices of all essential commodities have surged. The Centre and the Sonowal-led government have failed to control the surging prices," the AASU stated.

AASU president Dipanko Kumar Nath and general secretary Sankar Jyoti Baruah said that due to failure of the government's management system, the prices of essential commodities are surging and is affecting the people.

"Under the Modi regime, the price of petrol has crossed the Rs 100 mark. Every commodity is being sold at inflated price," said Nath.
