AASU Asks State Government to Challenge Court’s Verdict

From a Correspondent

New Delhi, Sept 18: The All Assam Students Union (AASU) on Tuesday vehemently criticized the Assam Government for producing a “poor chargesheet” that allows main accused in the Silapathar vandalism incident Subodh Biswas in granting bail. Immediately after Biswas, Nikhil Bharat Bengali Udbastu Samannay Samitee (NBBUSS) president, got bail by the Gauhati High Court, AASU general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi said that it’s because of the poor chargesheet that was leveled against Biswas that allows him to get bail.

“We ask the Assam government to challenge the Gauhati High Court’s verdict in the Supreme Court,” said Gogoi adding “Subodh Biswas has hurt the sentiments of the people of Assam.” He said that nobody in Assam will be allowed to create communal disturbance.
