AASU praises BJP legislator Padma Hazarika for ‘Laden’ capture

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) congratulated BJP legislator from Sootea, Padma Hazarika and his team for successfully capturing the rogue elephant ‘Laden’, which had been keeping the forest official on their toes since the past few years and had killed various civilians.

Expressing their gratitude to Hazarika, who has expertise in dealing with problematic elephants, his feat in capturing the wild elephant was deemed highly praiseworthy by the Union. AASU president Dipanko Kr Nath and general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi stated in a press release that the entire debacle was due to the inefficiency of the Forest Department. Urging for the appointment of a capable forest officer, AASU also desired that an elephant specialist team should be designated in the area.
