ABVP sweeps Gauhati Commerce College Students' Union polls

GUWAHATI: Candidates of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) swept the Gauhati Commerce College Students' Union (GCCSU) elections, results of which were declared on Thursday. The ABVP candidates won all of the 13 posts of the students' union.

While six ABVP candidates won unopposed, the remaining seven candidates secured victories by comfortable margins.

The new Union comprises of Kalpajyoti Choudhury (president), Hirakjyoti Talukdar (general secretary), Mamoni Boro (vice-president), Sapnil Das (assistant general secretary), Donna Sarkar (debate secretary), Chinmoy Deka (social service secretary), Sayan Mani Kumar Das (major games secretary), Branzil Daimary (minor games secretary), Santanu Das (gymnasium secretary), Bivek Chetry (boys' common room secretary), Risha Narzary (girls' common room secretary), Dipanjali Kalita (music secretary) and Akash Thapa (literary & magazine secretary).
