Guwahati: Police have apprehended the suspect in the Maligaon murder case, who is suspected of killing a watchman in Guwahati's Maligaon neighbourhood.

Biki Sahani is accused of murdering the victim with a piece of wood.

The cops apprehended him in Cooch Behar. On November 5, a man was battered to death with a piece of wood. A CCTV camera stationed nearby filmed the entire episode. 

Tarun Deka, who worked as a security guard at Maligaon Bazar, was recognized as the dead. Deka was from Mangaldai in Assam's Darrang district and had been employed as a watchman for several months.

Two males were spotted inebriated coming towards Bipul Complex, according to CCTV obtained by Guwahati police officers, and one of the men (Biki Sahani) was brandishing a wooden bat.

The man with the wooden bat was afterwards spotted shoving the other man (Tarun Deka) towards the building's entryway. During the early hours of November 6, the deceased's corpse was discovered from the same alley.

Another murder incident occurred in Tinsukia recently, wherein a body of an unknown man with his neck slashed was discovered near Chaliha Nagar in Tinsukia town. People in the area discovered the body near the Tinsukia Development Authority Office and reported the event to the Tinsukia Sadar Police Station.

Authorities indicated that preliminary evidence showed it was a murder case when the body was discovered. Tinsukia police ultimately took the body for a post-mortem examination.
