Accusing Sarania for Spray Man Incident is Unfortunate: NBSSA

STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: Putting forth their statement on the spray man incident, the Non- Bodo Surakshya Samiti, Assam (NBSSA) with Assam Gana Suraksha Party (AGSP) said that it is unfortunate that a group has put the blame on Naba Sarania for the incident.

Addressing the media at a press meet in Dispur Press Club on Tuesday, chief adviser of the Samiti, Brojen Mahanta said, “We had to address this press meet, because, an evil force under the assistance of the party, in power in BTAD is trying to create chaos in BTAD area. The BTAD election is approaching and the people are tired of the 15 year rule lead by Hagrama Mahilary. Now, that the failure has been ascertained for BPF, they are trying to create a tumultuous situation to fulfill their political desire.”

Mahanta further added, “The spray man incident is creating a terrifying situation in most of the BTAD areas. The situation is forbidding the people form relaxing because an uncertain situation is prevailing, where there is no safety for women. We doubt that some self centered party is behind these incidents. The government’s unconcerned nature has become significant for even after the happenings of such incidents, there is no initiative on their part.”

Mahanta further alleged Bodoland Jana-Jaati Surakshya Mancha (BJJSM) for blaming Naba Kumar Sarania of stating that only Bodo women are being targeted. Mahanta said that such type of move by the BJJSM throws a hint that the Mancha is trying to create communal fights among people to fulfill their political desire, as there are many examples where non-bodo women are also being targeted to attack. The Samiti along with AGSP urged the government to take urgent action to catch the culprit and appealed the people of BTAD to not believe in such news spread to destroy the peaceful environment by instigating communal fights.
