AGP protests Bill with  rallies, signature drive

GUWAHATI, May 16: Despite being a partner in the State regime, capitulating to public pressure, the AGP has gone up in flames to shout against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 by conducting a mass signature campaigning and torchlight rallies across the State. As was decided by the central executives of the party, the AGP activists have been carrying out mass signature campaigning in various locations of public gathering, besides going door to door in the places like Sualkuchi, Banghar, Singimari, Dadara, Poshoria, Amingaon, Rudreswar, Uttar Guwahati, Mandakata, Bezera, Satdala and Dhopatari.

As a part of the greater protest against the Bill, under the supervision of the party's central leader Manuj Saikia, the AGP has carried out a torchlight rally on Tuesday in Jalukbari Lok Sabha Constituency. The rally was started from Silshaku of Uttar Guwahati and culminated at Doul Govinda Temple. Saikia informed the media that the mass protest will continue until the Bill is revoked.
