All Assam Nurse Association (AANA) dharna underway at Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Nurse Association (AANA) has been staging an indefinite dharna on the premises of the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) since Monday, demanding same salary for same post. The association says that they will not withdraw their agitation till their demand is fulfilled, and they will not hesitate to start a vigourous agitation if the need arises. A member of the association taking part in the protest said: “We were called for talks on Tuesday. We went to the Janata Bhawan to meet the authorities today. However, we were made to sit there for a long time. None of the officers came to meet us. It’s an insult to us. such meeting with the authorities. However, nothing tangible is being done to solve our problems. We want same salary for same post.”
