All Assam Sapon Madhuri Dutta memorial elocution competition results announced

GUWAHATI: The results of 'All Assam Sapon Madhuri Dutta memorial elocution competition' was announced on Tuesday. The competition was organised online under the aegis of 'Nari Saraswat Mancha'. The competition which was open for students and ladies above the age of 20 years, saw the participation of a total of 90 competitors cutting across different age groups from all over Assam.

Daughter of eminent literatteur of yesteryears, late Dimbeshwar Neog, late Sapon Madhuri Dutta too was a writer of repute. She had served as the president and adviser of the Guwahati branch of All Assam Lekhika Samaroh Samiti.She was also an accomplished sitarist, singer and a social worker.

The names of the prize winners were announced at a meeting organised online on September 21 by Nari Saraswat Mancha to observe the death anniversary of Late Sapon Madhuri Dutta. The first prize has been bagged by Rhishikanya Batswa, Arati Das got the second prize and Rooprekha Kalita, was declared third by a panel of eminent judges. The total prize money has been donated by Late Sapun Madhuri Dutta's family. The programme was anchored by Door Darshan (NE) news reader and writer Jolly Saikia Gogoi, stated a press release signed by Aparajita Lahkar.
