All Guwahati Students’ Union (AGSU) Cycle Rally Against CAB

GUWAHATI: The All Guwahati Students’ Union (AGSU) took out cycle rally in the city to protest against CAB. The AGSU took out the protest opposing CAB as a part of the protest going on around the state as per the appeal by All Assam Students’ Union and 30 Ethnic Students’ organizations. The rally started from Shahid Nyas via Chandmari, Ganeshguri, Bhagaghar and Ulubari. Showing their resentment with anti-BJP slogans the protesters also opposed AGP’s current role regarding the citizenship amendment bill. Taking part in the rally one the protester said that we’re opposing the CAB and we appeal every citizen to oppose it, we’ll continue our protest until the central government scrap CAB. Another protester said that the rally has only objective that AASU will never agree to the citizenship amendment bill.

Attending the protest rally, state working member of AASU Tapan Kalita, Simanta Thakuria and president of All Kamrup District students’ Union Kusha Rangpi stated that by imposing the unconstitutional and undemocratic CAB on Assam the Central and State government is going to destroy the Assamese language and culture. AASU never agreed to this bill and will never agree to it.
