The move comes to support AASU's decision to form a regional party.
GUWAHATI: In a bizarre move, entire LDP Yuva Morcha has resigned from their respective posts and positions to support regionalism and regional politics of Assam.
The move was taken in support of AASU's (All Assam Students' Union) decision to form a powerful regional party in the State.
Entire youth of LDP Yuva Morcha including State President, State Office bearers, District Committee, Mandal Committee and members of Darrang, Jorhat, Majuli, Dhubri, Dibrugarh etc, almost other every district have resigned from their respective posts.
Chaandropol Baruah who had been the president of LDP Yuva Morcha and a founder member of LDP since 2015 said, "Since Assamese culture, language and tradition is facing crisis and it is in stake, so to safeguard the integrity as a whole there is no way out left except to strengthen the regional force of Assam." In this regard, AASU has always been a key and vital factor for upliftment of Assam and Assamese people. There is no other way left to take regionalism to a new height without supporting AASU political party that is going to form very soon, he further added.
The general secretary (Media) of LDP Yuva Morcha Diganta Sharma said "To protect the sovereignty of the Assamese culture and its people, every member of the Morcha consider it their duty and to protect regionalism.
"All of us have resigned from our respective post to support the new regional power and it should be the duty of every individual who love Assam to support this new power," he stated.
He also added that the entire Yuva Morcha is thankful to the State Committee of LDP for their support in previous times and wish LDP a bright future.
