GUWAHATI: The BJP has alleged that with a view to halting the atmosphere of development initiated by the saffron party in Assam, an anti-Assam lobby is working round the clock to create confusion and stagnation in the state. In a prèss meet at the party office in Guwahati today, BJP media panelist Subhash Dutta said, “ Whenever development takes it course, an anti- Assam lobby gets involved in creating a situation of high emotion and in the process mislead the general people. Their sole purpose is to foil all development. On this count, a serious political conspiracy has already been hatched against the BJP-led government in the state. Under the patronage of the Congress and with the backing of some left minded intellectuals, this conspiracy is being given shape at the ground level by KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi.

A disinformation campaign is being launched against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 with a view to instilling fear and distrust among the people of Assam. In this respect, Akhil Gogoi is playing the pivotal role. The result is that five innocent persons have been gunned down by miscreants in the Dhola area in Tinsukia district.”

Dutta further said that after the BJP-led coalition government took over the reins of the government in Dispur, the development process began to gain accelerating momentum. For every sector, schemes have been worked out and accordingly the same has been implemented. He also said, “ Not only eviction of encroachers from Xatra land and forest areas has been initiated, but the government has also started distribution of land pattas to landless indigenous people. During these years the confidence of the people has increased many-fold in respect of the government. In the upcoming panchayat polls, the BJP would come out with flying colours.”
