Anti-CAA protest: 33rd Guwahati Book Fair deferred for indefinite period

GUWAHATI: The Publication Board, Assam has deferred the 33rd Guwahati Book Fair for an indefinite period ostensibly because of the situation arising in the State out of the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act), 2019. The book fair was scheduled to be held from December 28, 2019 to January 8, 2020. The Board, in a statement issued to the press on Wednesday, said that the book fair has been postponed because of unavoidable reasons. It said that the date of commencement of the book fair will be announced later.
