APCC demand for a permanent solution to Assam floods

GUWAHATI: The Congress has demanded permanent solution to flood and erosion in Assam, and construction of cold-storage facilities. The party has sent a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India to this effect. Led by APCC spokesperson and secretary Imdad Hussain, a group of people distributed food and staple to the people in flood-affected Tengaguri village of Lahorighat LAC in Morigaon district on Friday. Perennial flood and erosion has already engulfed thousands of hectares of land along with houses and property, the party said.
