APSC Cash-for-Job Scam: More Answer Scripts Submitted to Court

GUWAHATI: Dibrugarh police submitted over 1,000 answer scripts of the 2014 batch of the combined competitive examinations conducted by the APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) to the Special Court here on Friday. The cash-for-job scam case (936/2016) is being investigated by the Dibrugarh Police. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Surjit Singh Panesar is the investigating officer (IO) in the case.

The answer scripts that were submitted to the Special Court by the police in two sealed boxes on Friday had been examined by the Forensic Sciences Laboratories in the State and outside it for evidence. According to sources, Dibrugarh police is going to submit more such documents to the Special Court by next week. The police submitted the answer scripts of the 2013 batch of the combined competitive examinations under the APSC to the Special Court here recently.

Meanwhile, the Dibrugarh Police is likely to submit its final charge sheet in the case to the Special Court on August 16, 2019, paving the way for the trial of the accused in the court. While a total of 70 accused have been arrested in this case so far, four others have been absconding.
