GUWAHATI, Sept 24: The Dibrugarh Police on Monday submitted the prosecution sanction order against Rakesh Paul, Samedur Rahman and Basanta Doley, the prime accused in the APSC’s cash-for-job scam before the Court of Special Judge here. Submission of the prosecution sanction order will facilitate the early start of trial against former APSC chairman Paul and the commission’s members Rahman and Doley for their involvement in the multi-crore scam.

Investigating Officer of the case Surajit Singh Panesar submitted the order before the court. On other hand the Dibrugarh Police sought more time from the court to submit the status report of the cash-for-job scam. Panesar told reporters that the police will also send the suspicious OMR sheets of APSC exams conducted during Paul’s regime, for forensic verification to detect more irregularities. He said former controller of examinations of APSC Bharat Bhusan Deba Choudhury will act as a witness in the case.
