Army Jawan from Bihar arrested for allegedly kidnapping Minor Boy in Guwahati

Guwahati: An Army Jawan was arrested by a team of Satgaon police on Tuesday for allegedly kidnapping a 17-year-old boy in the month of April in Guwahati.

The accused Jawan identified as Bimalesh Kumar Singh is a resident of Bihar.

As per a report, the jawan was arrested from the Narengi’s army camp in 51 sub-area.

Speaking to The Sentinel, O/C Satgaon, Satyendra Singh Hazari said, “The boy was kidnapped by the jawan 6 months back. From our preliminary investigation, we came to know that the boy had no parents and he was living along with his grandmother in Guwahati. He managed to lure the boy and took him to his village in Bihar and made him a servant.”

OC Hazari also mentioned that somehow the grandmother managed to contact the jawan and suspected him to be the kidnapper, although he lied her over the phone saying “He doesn’t know anything about her grandson”.

Following the incident, an FIR was lodged by the grandmother at Satgaon Police Station.

Interestingly, after coming to know about the case in Guwahati, the alleged kidnapper sent his wife to Guwahati along with the boy.

Meanwhile, Satgaon Police had rescued the boy and took his custody.

Furthermore, Satgaon Police had conveyed the matter to the Army Commandant and accordingly Bimalesh Kumar Singh was summoned back to Guwahati and was arrested by the police thereafter.

A case has been registered against Singh at Satgaon Police Station under section 343/365/506 of the IPC for case no. 90/18.
