ARPSS announces next phase of stir

Guwahati, June 10: The Asom Rajyik Prathamik Siksha Sanmiloni (ARPSS) has demanded that all anomalies pertaining to the 7 th State Pay Commission be settled by the government within June 17 and the needful payment be made to the teachers at the earliest. It may be recalled that on June 7, through a memo to the Chief Minister, the Sanmiloni gave an ultimatum of resolving the issue within June 10. Today, the Sanmiloni has extended the date by another week to June 17 to find a solution to the issue. However, the organization has warned that if the government fails to fulfill its demands by removing the anomalies, it will launch its next pahse of agitation from June 18. As per the stir programme drawn up, the protesters will put under lock and key all government offices covering the primary education section. Further, from June 18 the teachers will abstain from all matters pertaining to the Headmaster’s office and will also not cooperate with the activities of the Gunautshav. This decision was taken at an executive meeting of the Sanmiloni in Guwahati today.
