GUWAHATI: The Asom Rajyik Prathamik Shikshak Sanmilani (ARPSS) has submitted memoranda to all the MLAs of the State stating the reasons for which they have decided to gherao the Chief Minister's residence in the city on January 22, 2021.

It has been a long-standing demand of the ARPSS from the Government to create headmasters' posts in primary schools and repay the grade pay deducted from graduate primary teachers. The ARPSS highlighted their plight in the submitted memoranda to the MLAs and sought their support.

Representatives of the Sanmilani met the MLAs from December 27 to 30 and made them aware about their condition. ARPSS president Jiban Chandra Bora and secretary general Ratul Chandra Goswami stressed that the body needs the cooperation of the MLAs.
