Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) Betrays People: APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee)

GUWAHATI: APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) president Ripun Bora has said that the AGP has betrayed the people of Assam by stitching an alliance with parties that are supporting the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019. Talking to the media on Wednesday, Bora said: “This is not done. The AGP forging electoral tie-up with the BJP and other parties supporting the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill is not acceptable.” Bora, however, said: “Such an alliance will only benefit the Congress.” Meanwhile, AGP leader Lachit Bordoloi resigned from the party in protest against it forging an alliance with the BJP.
