Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad Protest against CAB in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) strongly opposed the BJP decision of reintroducing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB) in the Parliament.

The Parliamentary winter session will start from November 18 and the ruling party has already announced that CAB will be tabled during the session. As such, the Parishad has staged a protest rally at every district headquarters on Friday.

Reacting over the Central Government decision, general secretary of the Parishad Polash Sangmai said, “There is no way that can be passed smoothly without any opposition. Just because BJP has majority in the Parliament does not give them free reign to pass the anti-constitutional Bill. If the Central Government has moral fiber, then they should initiate a mass voting process. The Assam Government should also oppose the decision as the neighbouring States like Meghalaya, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh have done.”
