ASPEDICON-2018 will Commence From December 14

GUWAHATI: The 33rd IAP (Indian Academy of Paediatrics) Annual Conference of Assam State branch, ASPEDICON 2018 will commence from December 14 to December 16 at IORA The Retreat, Kaziranga, Golaghat. The event is being organized by IAP Golaghat City Branch with child specialist from Golaghat, Dr. Dilip Ch Deka as organizing Chairperson & Dr Rajeev Phukan as Organizing Secretary. Many renowned faculty members of Paediatrics from Assam as well as many parts of India will be giving lectures on an assortment of important topics during the conference, a press release stated.

The theme of the conference is "First 1000 Days of Life, The 'Window of Opportunity", referring to the period from the beginning of conception up to the age of two years of a child. On December 14, a workshop on "Nutrition In Preterm and Low Birth Weight Babies" and another on "Kangaroo Mother Care" wilt be held. Scientific session will be held on the remaining two days. Eminent personalities like Dr. Sachi N Vani, Emeritus Professor, Ccmsultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist from Ahmedabad Dr. Pravin Khobragade, Chief of Health, UNICEF, India. Prof Arun Singh, National Advisor, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, Ministry of Health & Family 'Welfare, Dr. Ravindra Nagendra, Prof & Head Gadag Institute of Medical Science, Karnataka, Prof Dr. DK Patgiri, 'Retd HOD, Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh, Prof Dr. C.S. Das, Retd HOD Silchar Medical College & Hospital Silchar will also be gracing the occasion. Several doctors as well as post graduate students of Paediatrics have registered for the conference and it is hoped that discussions and deliberations as well as the exchange of academic information during the three days event will benefit one and all.
